C1900 FAQ

 

    Question: My Instrument no longer recognizes itself as a controller. How can I correct this?

 

    Answer: If your instrument has lost it's control program and initializes itself as a recorder, there are a few possibilities of what went wrong.

    1) There may have been a power "glitch" that may have corrupt the program (Field correctable). or

    2) The Controller Key may have lost its program (Key needs repair or replacement).

     

 

    The following detailed steps will determine if the key is bad, or if the unit just lost it's memory.

    Please keep in mind that this procedure is NOT in any published manuals. This is a "factory" only procedure. Follow these steps carefully, for you may accidentally render your unit useless if you change any other parameters.

 

Detailed Steps:
1)

Turn off the Security Link LK3, two pin jumper installed in lower position. (Processor Board: Top, Center)

Press until you see

Press first and hold, then press . You will see

Turn on the Security Link LK3, two pin jumper installed in upper position. (Processor Board: Top, Center)

Press until you see

Press once and you will see either  or .
8)

Press until you see . If this option does not appear, then you have a faulty controller key, Please call us for repair or replacement.
9)

Press until you see . From here, we need to now reconfigure what type of controller you have (ie: 1911R, 1914R, 1922R, etc,etc.)
10)

Turn off the Security Link LK3, two pin jumper installed in lower position. (Processor Board: Top, Center)

Press until you see

Press once and you will see a screen like , now press either or to set the type to your instruments configuration (ie: 1911R)

Press until you see , then press until you see . The unit is now configured as a controller, and it is configures for your particulat type of controller. The next few steps are needed to set the units software to a set standard, to eliminate any possible programming issues.

Press until you see

Press once, you will see .
16)

Press once, if you have 2101 firmware, you will see .
17)

Press once, you will see , followed by .
18)

From here, you can simply exit the program by either recyling power, or by pressing   until you see , then press until you see (Your control display).
