Question: I replaced the A.d. (129S1355) chip, and I got the board to work, can I buy these?

Answer: To date, the factory has not made the A.d. chip (PLCC-129S1355) available for purchase. Since this is a proprietary chip, it is not available from an outside vendor.

The good news though is that their is RARELY a problem with these chips. This would be particularly true if you have an instrument with a "G" or "H" serial number (Dating 96 - early 97). There was a design change at the factory during this period which proved to stress the A.D. circuit to its specified limits. You can usually find another chip to work, but it is only temporary. The board is in need of upgrading & repair.
